The Haddon Fortnightly is thrilled to be welcoming back local author and Penn professor, Lorene Cary, on November 24th from 3 to 5pm at the Fortnightly, 301 Kings Highway East in Haddonfield.
Lorene will be discussing her new memoir, Ladysitting: My Year with Nana at the End of Her Century. The lecture will be followed by a book signing (supplied by Inkwood Books of Haddonfield) and reception with delicious light refreshments.
As a special treat, Lorene has shared her Nana’s favorite cake recipe, which will be among the desserts served.
Admission to the lecture and reception, plus a signed copy of Ladysitting, is $45. Admission to the lecture and reception is $20. A portion of the ticket sales benefit The Haddon Fortnightly (a 501(c)(3)).

The Haddon Fortnightly, October Meeting
The October meeting of The Haddon Fortnightly will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., at The Haddon Fortnightly Clubhouse, 301 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield.
The program for the meeting will be a presentation by Debra Williams, RN, MSN from the Cooper Trauma Center addressing Fall Prevention.

Brief Description: John will discuss the process of making sculptures and talk about some of his favorite sculptures.
On November 12, 2019 at 7:30pm, the Haddon Fortnightly, 302 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, NJ will welcome John Giannotti, Haddonfield’s own Sculptor. John’s sculpture of the Hadrosaurus has become a destination in Haddonfield for the last 18 years. At the Fortnightly, John will give a brief explanation of the making of the sculpture and the bronze casting process and share information about other public sculptures he has created including Rosie the Riveter, Matthew Henson, Walt Whitman and the new Temple Owl Bronze.Read More

Come out and celebrate autumn at a festive Luncheon and Games event hosted by the Social Services Committee of The Haddon Fortnightly on Friday, October 11, at 11:30 a.m. The luncheon will be held at the historic Haddon Fortnightly Clubhouse, located on Kings Highway in Haddonfield at the corner of Grove Street. Attendees will enjoy a delicious luncheon and are invited to play bridge, other card games or games of their choice or just to come and socialize. All are welcome. The cost is $15, and luncheon proceeds will benefit local charities. Reservations are required.
